Ok so how many of you know of good Latin American restaurant here in Dubai??
I know there are few that gives the feel and look of Latin America but how delicious are the food they serve?
Take my word HAD THE BEST FEEL, LOOK and AUTHENTIC TASTE of LATIN AMERICA @DUBAI.
Highway 311 is a road trip of food from Mexico 🇲🇽 , Peru 🇵🇪 , Venezuela 🇻🇪, Colombia 🇨🇴 and Chile 🇨🇱. Their interiors were spot on with decors from the above mentioned countries. Very colorful and bright seating arrangements on each table the engravings of Highway 311. Also accommodating sofa plush textiles of Latin America richness seating's. Mural Paintings on the wall requires a special mention as it is based on the inspiration of the Bolivian artist Mamani Mamani for the empowerment of women and their rights in society.
Hat paintings depicting lush forest and birds of Latin America reminded me of RIO
Cozy restaurant definitely made me to open the corridors of traveling to Latin America.
Lets delve into Drinks, Food and Desserts served.

MOCKTAIL

CHICHA MORADA - Welcomed by the classic Peruvian mock-tail made out PURPLE CORN. Never had a Vegan Healthy mocktail. Purple corn is solely found only in Latin America. Found in Peru Andes Mountains and a NUTRIENT POWERHOUSE. Loved the taste so subtle and mellow and no CORNY FLAVOR. A VEGAN MOCKTAIL.

CITRIC PEPPER SPICED STRAWBERRY - Name suggests its spicy but i did not feel so. Its neither like Strawberry mojito or mock-tail thats available in town. This was a very refreshing drink that kept me sipping for the whole meal i had. Since it was soo good i did not take a sip of water at all.

APPETIZERS

AREPAS - These are made from corn flour. This is the Khuboos of Latin America and are hand sized. Fillings can be of one’s choice but i loved the filling of pulled chicken, lettuce, tomatoes and Highway sauce. Arepas are usually fried with very little oil for each dough and also oven baked. Hailing from COLOMBIA 🇨🇴. VEGAN KHUBOOS for Ramadan if-tar a definite choice.
TAMALES - MEXICAN dish. Tamales can be filled with meats, cheeses, fruits, vegetables, chilies or any preparation according to taste, and both the filling and the cooking liquid may be seasoned. Made from Corn flour dough. These flour dough are steamed that are wrapped with Banana leafs 2 times. Here the fillings consisted of chicken, bell peppers and raisins and were spicy. VEGAN STEAMED CAKE is another recipe good for Ramadan Iftar.

HABA HABA CHICKEN WINGS - For the love of chicken wings i had to try it. Ordered the Haba Haba sauced chicken wings. It was super spicy and lip-smacking. I love spicy chicken wings.

TACOS

PULLED BEEF TACOS - FRESHEST TACOS I EVER HAD IN DUBAI. These Tacos were made from scratch out of corn flour. Slowly cooked pulled beef, Pico de gallo and grated cheddar cheese. Pico De Gallo is made from choped onion, tomato, cilantro, serrano peppers and lime juice. Here to make it spicy tabasco sauce was drizzled. Family Favorites.

MAIN COURSE

POLLO A LA BRASA

Oh Boy the best Charcoal Grilled Chicken bombed with flavors. PERUVIAN GRILLED CHICKEN with the twist under the skin of the chicken were herbal pesto paste. Served with french fries with 4 types of Dips. Dips consisted of Aji Verde, Aji Pollero, tomato ketchup and Salsa Criolla. Aji Verde sauce is the most spiciest i ever had. Aji Pollero was subtle. I definitely loved the combo with the roasted chicken. YES all the sauce were new and i feel it should be added along with all the rotisserie chicken in town.

ENCHILADA

My first time having Enchilada. Plating was soo colorful. There was red, black, green, white, yellow and brown. Red or Maroon is the Mexican brown Rice. Black are the black beans so fresh and cooked well to chew. Green is the avocado Guacamole. White is the sour cream. Brown the main is the Beef burrito covered in Enchilada Sauce. So Yeah this is the wholesome meal of MEXICO. This for me was super heavy but super hungry then this is DONE DEAL.

BURRITOS

CALIFORNIA BURRITO - Beef or Chicken, Sour Cream, wedge fries and cheddar cheese freshly wrapped in a warm Flour Tortilla. We had both and my kids loved them.
Super fresh and bombed with Mexican flavors.

DESSERTS

CHURROS - Give me any type of fritters and I AM IN HEAVEN. Totally a snack item at Mexico but can have it anytime of the day. This is one of the fresh churros i had with a filling of Nutella. Were soo good and yummy 😋.

CHOCOLATE CAKE - Divine chocolate cake. Layers of milk chocolate frosting and sponge chocolate cake. Were moist such an easy melt into the mouth. Family favorites.

TRES LECHES CAKE - This is a traditional dessert in Latin America. A butter cake soaked in three types of milk. How not to resist this. By now i was so full but still decided to have this dessert. Anything in milk i am up for it. First bite and yes a total bliss and melt just how tres leches should taste.

I am a Latina food fan. Loved the variety of corn flours, corn type and bell pepper varieties are there. Thought only Indians had most spiciest dishes but I am wrong, its the Latinas whho eat even more spiciest dishes. Food is the best traveler information one can get. Have never visited South America but after eating from Highway 311 really have to plan to visit. Highway 311 is an AUTHENTIC LATIN AMERICAN RESTAURANT which serves food QUALITY, QUANTITY AND PRICE WISE VERY VERY REASONABLE. A cozy restaurant at JLT community with GOOD VIBES.
