We had gone there for lunch during a weekend, and had already reserved our table, yet we were made to wait for almost 30 min. Even then, we were seated at a table right in the middle of the busy restaurant floor, even though I had specified during the reservation and again when we reached there, that I wanted one a table by the windows. When I pointed that out, the maître d’ simply smiled and said that we’d have to wait an additional 30-40 min for a window-side table – no apologies offered!
However, that little misstep was the last of their mistakes. From here on, it was seafood heaven! The restaurant itself is large and bright, with the seafood counter on one far side of the floor. Once we settled down, and ordered a starter, we were whisked off to the tanks filled with live fishies to take our pick of what we wanted to devour. The prices are decided per kg, and then the cooking style. There are many, many options and if it gets too confusing, ask for assistance from the service staff who are only too willing.
The food was cooked to perfection, as each and every ingredient is fresh, even the veggies, which have their own counter. The Szechuan Spicy chilli sauce was in my opinion the best, but it was closely followed by Pepper- lime-garlic sauce and the Soy sauce with ginger. We ended our meal with the extravagant flambé deserts in Strawberry and Mango flavors.
Our meal for four cost us around Dhs 650 with taxes, which in a restaurant in Le Meridien, and a meal so delicious, was well worth every penny!
