Max’s Restaurant Opens in Dubai

Max’s Restaurant, the brand that has redefined Filipino cuisine for today’s discerning food crowd, has finally come to the United Arab Emirates. Foodmark, a division of the Landmark Group, has added another accolade to its list with the opening of Max’s in Burjuman Road in Dubai.

Max’s Dubai brings to the table heartwarming flavors that are sure to resonate in the mouth of local diners. Must-try dishes include Max’s world-famous fried chicken and classic dishes like fresh lumpiang ubod (egg rolls) and pancit canton (egg noodles).

Max’s expansion in the UAE has generated hype and anticipation among the public. It has drawn an impressive 2,500 followers in its Facebook fan page months before its opening day. Stepping into Max’s Dubai, customers marvel at the clean-cut architectural design of both restaurants, with the contrasting red and gray brick walls, wide glass panels and wooden trellises that maintain an impression of casual comfort and lend an exhilarating outdoor ambience.

“People come together because of something they all share – the love for good food. We bring this experience to a higher level by offering something new and extremely delightful to pique our customers’ appetites,” said Marc San Juan, International Marketing Manager for Max’s Restaurant.

Max’s Restaurant depicts a colorful history that is as vibrant as its homey interiors and culturally diverse diners. It originated in the Philippines and is known for its crispy fried chicken, a well-guarded family heirloom recipe that departs from the heavily breaded dish that most customers are accustomed to. Undoubtedly satisfying even to the biggest appetites, Max’s fried chicken is remarkably tender on the inside and crispy on the outside. Max’s boast of using only the freshest ingredients cooked passionately and served generously by the restaurant’s staff.

Speaking about the newly launched restaurant, Naveed Dowlatshahi, Head of Foodmark says, “Since we opened the doors last week people have been queuing around the block to get a seat. We are so pleased to bring a restaurant here that has so many fans and followers already. It is wonderful to bring a taste of home to so many, here in Dubai and later in Sharjah”.

 

The restaurant’s infamous name was derived from its founder Maximo Gimenez, a Standford-educated Filipino teacher who graciously welcomed American soldiers into his home for dinner during the post-war era. His niece, Ruby, whipped up delicious recipes that kept their American guests coming back for more. It was only a matter of time before Maximo’s friends persuaded him to open a restaurant in order to accommodate the growing demand for his famous fried chicken.

What started out as a small café in the Philippines has successfully transitioned into a proud tradition that is also making waves in the global front as an international brand.  Today, “the house that fried chicken built” has a total of 125 branches in the Philippines and 10 branches in other locations in Canada, United States and now in the UAE.
